"I don't measure a man's success by how high he climbs but how high he bounces when he hits bottom."
-George S. Patton

It used to just be the two of us
Not another to come between
Funny how things change
One little kiss, one word that you didn’t mean

But it was great, the fun with your friends
Where I’d gaze at you like fool
The times you’d give me the biggest grin
When I’d visit you at school

I said I’d write this poem
my heart isn’t in it though.
It’s lying on your front steps
With the wind and the snow

If there was any way I could’ve help this more
You know I would have
I feel like the hero, torn in two
Cuz you’re the one I couldn’t save

I guess I give
This isn’t my fault anymore
I’m over it
Really I am
Bye
